For the next installment of the 2010 HP:InQuiry Lecture Series, organized by students of the Historic Preservation Program, DOCOMOMO founder Hubert-Jan Henket will discuss preservation issues specific to buildings of the Modern Movement, especially their inherent temporality. He will draw upon lessons learned during the restoration of the iconic modernist Zonnestraal Sanitorium in Hilversum, The Netherlands (Johannes Duiker and Bernard Bijvoet, 1926-1928)–the project for which he and co-DOCOMOMO founder Wessel de Jonge received the 2010 World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize. DOCOMOMO-US chapter president Theo Prudon will moderate.

Monday November 22, 6:30pm
