The Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY
Join Preservation Alumni next Saturday, October 26th, as we join with the Woodlawn Conservancy and conservators at ICR-ICC for our annual Fall Work Day.  At present, the expected schedule is as follows:
9-10AM: Coffee at the Jerome Gatehouse, Woodlawn Cemetery. Perk up and meet fellow alums!
10AM-1PM: Work begins! We'll start with an overview of the Belmont mausoleum (our focus of work for the day) from historian Susan Olsen, coupled with an explanation of the work we'll be undertaking under the guidance of Glenn Boornazian ('86) of ICR-ICC.
1-2:30PM: Lunch and tour/discussion of the site in greater detail.
2:30-4:30PM: Work continues.
5PM: End of day, cemetery closes.
Come for one shift or come for the whole day! Any amount of time you can volunteer is greatly appreciated by our hosts, Woodlawn Conservancy and The Woodlawn Cemetery, in addition to this being a great opportunity to work hands-on with fellow alums and current students.
Volunteers should gather inside the cemetery at the Jerome Avenue entrance (last stop on the #4 subway). For those driving, you can park on the cemetery grounds; Security will direct you upon arrival. For advice on alternate transportation, feel free to email the Woodlawn Conservancy, our hosts for the day.
